OUR STORY

It all started with a mishap: I broke one of my favorite beaded necklaces. As I was crawling around on the floor at work trying to collect the scattered beads, one of my co-workers said, "I bet you could fix that." I went to my local craft store, picked up some beading wire, clasps, and a pair of pliers and voila! I was able to put the necklace back together all tickety-boo. I even made a few adjustments, shortening it to a length I liked better, and using the leftover beads to make a matching pair of earrings (which required another trip to the craft store for French hooks). I was so pleased with the result that I started buying more beads and supplies to create handmade jewelry for myself, family members, and a few friends.

A few years later, I saw some resin jewelry at a booth at a fair, and I decided to try and make that, too. I bought some molds, dyes, and resin and started pouring. After some trial and error (this was definitely harder than beading), I started to get some pieces that were wearable. Then the fun really began, as I experimented with colors, textures, and mix-ins with the resin.
I enjoy making jewelry almost as much as I enjoy wearing it, so I kept on going...and going...and going. Soon I had filled two boxes on my dresser with jewelry, and was looking for room for more. About that time, my husband suggested that I start trying to sell some of my creations, and the Tickety-Boo shop was born. I hand craft each piece of jewelry at my home in Birmingham, Alabama. Like most artwork, no two pieces are exactly alike, and there are some imperfections (earrings may not be exactly alike, colors may vary, etc.). Like me, my creations are not perfect, but I hope that they are tickety-boo for you!
